Hawkeye Bore Scope WTB ???

I have been looking at some used Hawkeyes. They are about half the price of new.

Question is what should I be looking for in terms of style, length, eye piece, diameter.

I don't care if I can scope .17cal, but .224 and up is a must. The .17 would be a bonus though.

Also some of these are newer, and some are older. Are the lenses much different?

What should I be looking to avoid?

All bore scope owner advice is much appreciated.
 
I have the 17" kit with focusable straight & angled eye piece. Best thing I bought for my fireams & makes a giant difference when looking down the barrels.
Avoid the ones that are not the Hawkeye brand period....IMO.

What is the diameter of your scope? With the 17" you can see the whole bore by looking through both ends of the barrel. Right?

I have the 17" Slim kit. The 17" allows you to see an entire bore but you have to look in both ends. The slim allows for 17 caliber bores but you have to take the side view prism off. Dont buy the "Super Nova" light...its just a mag lite with an LED bulb. You can put the LED bulb in the one that comes with the light you get. I bought the angled eye piece off ebay for like $75.00 and it is nice but it aint $359.00 nice new.

Diameter is very small,I dont think it will fit the 17, BUT I dont have a 17 so I cant say it wont fit it for sure, seems like it will though. It will do the angled view as well as the straight bore view.
Yes I scope from both ends and it will get a 28" bbl with ease.
