Haze in a Bushnell Banner?

Okay, before anyone jumps on me for buying a cheaper scope, I have to take it one step at a time. I bought a new rifle, and now I have to wait for a better scope. In the meantime, I came accross a 6-24 bushnell banner that I am using. I have had good luck with these scopes in the past, they gather light remarkably well for a 100 dollar scope, and in fact, I currently have a 3x9 on my slug gun and have no complaints with it. The problem with the 6x24 is that any power above 18 is hazy. Is this a common problem with this scope? I asked my buddy who is well versed in these things and he said that in his experience a lot of your cheaper scopes have this problem on a high power setting. Would a sunshade help it? any suggestions?

I had the same problem with one of my Banners. I would have to adjust the clarity for the higher setting which became inconvienient, especially when there was a critter in my scope

A Bushnell 4200 Elite is about 4 levels of better scope than a Banner. I would have them fix this.

With cheap scopes (BSAs, Barskas, Tascos and Bushnells and others) its a common problem especially if they have 24x or more.

+1

Magnification makes optical flaws much more noticeable.
