anyone hee ever use the wicked w13 head lamp by it self .if so is it ok. any problems. going to do some nite hunting by myself.and need some input
 
Thats the light I use..Its great and no problems..I wish I had got one sooner..It has everything I need in a hunting light..
 
I have one and I like it. It is not quite as bright as the XLR250 kill light but brighter than the 100 scan light. It does spill some light so I added a halo shield and took care of that. I do not use it as my primary scan/kill light, I prefer a hand held scan light and a gun mounted kill light but I do use it occasionally for scanning and always while walking in/out to a stand. I have found it to be very handy.
Just watch that you don't illuminate yourself, and take the time to make sure that the headlight is properly adjusted on your head so that you can see the animal in your sights and I think you'll be ok with the W13 as a primary light if you're using a shotgun. I recommend a dedicated gun mounted kill light for a rifle.
 
I too use a halo shield on any headlamp.. My standard LED Light halo shield works great on the W13. you can either roll the ream hem once or twice depending on your desired level of halo.

I have a W113 from Jerimiah. Very nice light and good service. I used a plumbing coupler for the halo shield. That's my only complaint with the light. Casts a large halo and gets alot of your gun. Great light.
 
What is the battery life on these and how long to charge them? Thinking about buying one for solo night hunts as a scan/kill light as we cannot use rifles in MN with lights it would be limited to shotgun range. Thanks
 
how far out can you see eyes with that light? i need to find a decent headlamp so im not covering everything with my barrel since i plan on mounting a light on the rifle for target identification and final shot.
 
Boondock - I have looked on your website for this shield but I can't find it. I am getting ready to order the headlight and would like to order the shield at the same time. Can you or anyone else tell me how to find it?
 
The whole headlamp weighs 10.2 ounces with the TWO 18650 batteries installed..

The halo shield weighs less than 2 ounces.. Not heavy at all and balances well on head..
