Heavy 6.8 bullets

I have been researching heavy 6.8 loads. Well I had some 145 grain federal fusion 270 reduced recoil loads. I pulled a bullet from one of these an they look like they would work fine. The reduced recoil rounds are at 2200 fps so they should work fine at. 6.8 velocity. Any input would be appreciated. The bullet on the right came from a federal 90 grain gold dot 6.8.

Deer bullet. I have been using them in my 270, with the reduced recoil loads. They are a great deer round almost always a complete pass through. I would imagine I can get at least 2200 Fps in the 6.8.

IMO... there are ALOT better bullet choices out there for a Deer bullet in the 6.8! You may but I don't think you will get them to the 2200fps either... JMO, YMMV!

I don't think you will get 2200 fps with 1/2 your case capacity used up by a bullet. You'd be better off using a proper SPC type bullet.
