Helmet mount a pulsar axion xm38

Looking for the missing piece between the Wilcox g24 and the axion. Don’t believe the psv14 j arm is the answer but without one in hand to line up I can’t be sure. Also something to consider is the 1/4 /20 thread mount on the axion used for camera tripod mount being on the bottom of the unit vs the side of the unit like most commonly mounted NV monoculars. Can’t believe I’m the first to consider this but there is zero I’ve found across forums online regarding the subject. Any tips would be greatly appreciated

I haven’t tried this and not sure if the eyepiece would work. You could potentially use a Wilcox shoe to screw into the tripod adapter. However, you would need a Wilcox bridge. The bridge snaps into the g24, and the Wilcox shoe into the bridge. If you want to save a little money a person could try something like this. This is the same as the bridge but just for one eye. Even if it all connects, have not tried this and the high base mag and small eyepiece may not be ideal to helmet mount.

Speaking from experience here. I had mounted a Pulsar HD19 to a helmet utilizing the 1/4" socket on the side of the Pulsar. The socket is basically just set into the plastic housing. This arrangement did not last very long. The socket worked loose inside the housing. I ended up utilizing the rail on the Pulsar instead by modifying a scope ring with a weaver base and then drilling and tapping the base as an attachment point for the arm. Dealer said that the 1/4" socket was only for use on a tripod with no pressure put upon it.

It should not be hard to fashion a piece of aluminum in the shape and angle you want to attach one end to the J arm and the other to the Axion. I've been using a 19A on a Crye Precision Night Cap for several years with a bracket that P-mack (Paul McNamara) fashioned for me. It doesn't use the j arm and mounts directly to the Rhino mount. I don't think with the magnification on the Axion you can do anything other than scan, walking would be a no no. We ride elecric bikes using the 19A's but they are 1x mag.

Appreciate all the feedback. Setup will be for scanning from fixed position only. I’m in the process of creating a homemade mount so we’ll see how that turns out
