Help me choose a 20 cal

20 Practical.

I was in your shoes and decided on the 20 Practical and have been very, very pleased with it in it's performance, cost effectiveness, etc. Glad I did it.

I like the 20 Tactical. Of course, I am a little biased in that I have one. HSM makes good ammo for it, it is available and is great brass to use for loading. I ordered several hundred pieces from Dakota so I should be set. To make more, all you have to do is run a 223 case in the FL die.

Ive been thinking of rebarreling my 223, so Ive been humming and hawing between the 20Prac and just a normal 223 again. Reading posts like these make me lean towards the 20P though.

35gr Berger match varmint flat base. They run about 3800 ft/s

Well guys thanks for all the help! I just got off the phone with the barrel maker and made arangements with the gunsmith. I am getting a 24" bob jurry barrel with an 11 1/4 twist contoured to fit a savage model 12 stock. I am getting it chambered and threaded by bob galloway of custom gunworks chambered in 20 practical.

Been shooting a pair of 20VT's for several years now. Really awesome. Sold a 20TAC a couple of years ago, big mistake. I'll be adding one back. The two compliment each other.

Love my 20 Practical.

Fast, accurate and "no special tools required".....LOL.

223 brass is everywhere and forming is simple.

Downside...mine doesn't buck the wind well with a 26gr bullet
