I am refinishing a Marlin Model 60 for my Sister in law (16 years old). She would like the thing to be pink. I am trying to think of some kinda girly pink paint combo they might work on it. I am just doing the stock pink. You guys have any pictures or ideas?

Go to any autoparts store (or walmart) and get some flower outline window decals.

Pick up gloss white, and a pastel pink spray paint, and a clear-coat. (Better yet, order Duracoat with the included hardener and a HPLV airbrush kit).

Prep the stock by sanding off the original finish (wood) or rough the poly stock by sanding.

Spray the stock white, and let dry.

Apply the window stickers randomly to the stock.

Spray the stock (over the stickers) pink, and let dry.

Peel off the stickers, being careful not to peel/chip any of the pink paint.

Overcoat with the clearcoat.

Bob's your uncle, you're done, and the new proud owner of a pink stock detailed with white girly flowers.

OR, you could buy pink, white, and black (or grey) paint and choose any one of the lauer 3 color camo stencil/decal kits and end up with a pink camo stock.

I don't mind painting a stock pink but I can't do flowers lol. I have already told her the line was crossed when she said she would like it glittery.....nope can't do it. She says she wouldn't like the sponge camo. My other options is Home Depot here in town will mix me up some wood stain for me so I might try that route.

The only thing stopping you is your imagination, or lack of. Here's one we did for a girl last summer. DuraCoat is the way to go.

I do absolutely agree, for home-spun paint jobs, Duracoat is the way to go.

Check out midwayusa.com. They have TONS of templates for different camo patterns (just search "Lauer template").

If you don't like flowers, pick up some filigree window stickers then. The possibilities are endless. You can find stickers for anything these days. I stole the idea from a guy on another forum once to use coyote paw-print stickers on a home paint job, winding a walking path from the stock, up under the belly, out on the far side forend. Shot the stock flat black, placed the stickers, shot the rifle in Lauer snow camo, removed the stickers, and I ended up with a wicked paint job.

Have her pick out some pattern/decals she likes. Bright Navy/Dark Royal blue really pops out from pink. Black or white are pretty straight forward. A swirling black filigree on a pink stock (paint it black, add decals, overshoot pink) would look pretty dang slick.
