Henry Long Ranger 223

I have one in 308W, shoots great. Thought I had a pic of target but can't find it. Sitting (actually leaning to the side, almost freehand) in a cheap plastic chair inside an old wood stand. Hit the edge of the paper plate with 2 shots 1" apart. 168 gr. Amax hand loads.
It's about same weight as marlin 30/30, just more accurate. Had to do a minor fix on one of the spot welded mags, caused feed problems.

Was gping to get a couple Ruger 77's in 22 hornet. I want matching firearms for me and my 13 yr old grandson. But I also want iron sights also, which the m77 does not offer.
I think the Henry is the better choice here, maybe top my grandsons with a 4 or 6 power scope.

Mine was the scope model with the rail. IIRC the sighted models can mount a rail also. the barrel is a thin one and full floated but POI was good over 10 shots ( 2 mags worth), not slow fired. It has AR type bolt lugs. Action is very smooth, better than the Marlin.
