Herter's ammo in a rock river ?

Just orderd a new Rock river PP 20" and woundering if i could use some herters ammo from cabelas that i already had? Will this steel jacket stuff do damage to my new toy?

Steel is for chrome plated chambers and bores.

Use brass case rounds.

If you want shoot cheap, shoot Lake City ss109 or get some American Eagle ss855’s. Look at Sportsman Guide or Cheaper than dirt for deals. $370 - $400 per 1000.

Leave all Russian ammo in the box. Why buy a nice AR then why shoot junk in it. Get a spray can of CLP and spray your bolt carrier. Makes it easier to clean, when you get home.

I dont shoot steel jacket or steel cased stuff. Minute of beer can doesnt do it for me.

Give your thoughts on UltraMax ammo. 68gr and 75gr.
Its remanufactured and goes for about 52 cents each

You have ordered a accurate rifle that will have a nice trigger. Get a used M4 type AR-15 rifle to shoot the junk in. Just my .02 cents.

You can get BVAC ammo for a little more than the steel cased stuff and be worry free. It's pretty accurate too. I just picked up a case of 500 for $155.69 of 55gr Soft Points that I use for plinking and work very well for hunting too.

I shoot the Ultramax 55gr SP and I have been very happy with it.

Some people shoot that stuff in their AR's but I won't shoot any of that junk in any of my AR's just to be blazzing ammo through the gun. Like others have said there are other suppliers that have better quality ammo for just a little more money. If you spent around $1200+ on a gun and scope why would you want to shoot that stuff.
