Hey everyone,

I've been registered on this board for somet time now, lost it in favorites and recently found it again. And am I glad! I like coyote hunting, and reading about tactics, your hunting stories and all that, and I'm on a few other hunting message boards around the internet world. Just figured I'd say howdy and share my most recent story with you...

Well, on this past Labor Day a buddy and me decided we wanted to get out in the woods...with guns. All summer we've been waitin just to go out and hunt something and the 1st was the coyote opener for us here in Arkansas. It was kinda a quick idea thing, so I told him to come out and we'd go try to get a yote or two by my house. I hear them yipping sometimes at night, but I figured it was hit or miss whether or not we'd shoot one, or even see one for that matter...

So we got out in the woods that morning, me with the 30-30 and Chris with his 22. It was dang hot, bugs were eating us up...and the rabbit in distress tape didn't work for us at first. We played it for about 5 minutes, decided it was annoying and to try the pups, yips and barks tape. So I stuck it in the caller...and a few minutes later turned it off...and sho enough...

I see a yote running in...it was overcast and early and kinda hard to see and I lost him for a minute in the shadows, but then he turned his head...and blam! I shot at him, didn't know if I'd hit him or not...Chris stood up and shot a few rounds at him...

Well, we went to where he was standing at and didn't see any blood...we were about to give up when Chris saw him laying by the fencerow about 30 yards away. I shot him far back...caught some good vitals on one side but the exit wound was in his gut. It smelled pretty bad but we coped...also found out that he had a 22 bullet right behind his ear from where Chris has shot him, which is what put him down for good. I got the pic below. It was a good morning out for us...good to get back out in the wild chasing these varmints!

Oh yeah, Chris is on the left and I'm on the right...

Hey Rye,

Welcome aboard!! From your handle, I was wondering if you weren't headed in to check your "homemade" back in the woods! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
