I guess it is a sign of the times for the high cost of non-resident licenses to hunt. I am not talking so much as to turkey, deer or bear, but for small game. For example: I live near the Simpson County, KY line in Tennessee and I was approached by an owner to hunt coyotes on his 160 acre farm in KY. At the local KY Wal-Mart I talked to the guy in the sporting goods and picked up the KY hunting guide. To my amazement the one year license was $115 and that did not include the big game licenses. The licenses run out in January, so its bad news for the farmer and me until February 1st. The fellow lost 6 calves to yotes this last year and that cost him about $3600. Here in Tennessee the yearly non-resident small game license is much better at $91. Hunting all year long in another state seems like a new, great opportunity for me.
