Hodgen 4831sc powder in .243 75 gr. bullets

Does anyone have a load for the .243 using hodgens 4831sc powder on 75 grain bullets

Yes but they didn't have anything for 75 grain bullets using the 4831sc powder.

Use the info for the next heavier bullet. You always have to work up anyway.

Probably a reason for that. IME 4831 isn't very good in the 243 unless you are using bullets of 85gr or more.......

my book shows 46.0 as a starting load and 48.0 as max with 4831 powder.48.0 is 3353 for vel.

I use H-4350 or IMR-4064

My 243 shoots a 75gr Vmax over 38.5grs of Varget really well. The same powder and charge is used with an 85gr Barnes TSX, also exceptional accuracy.

H-4831sc with 105 speers have done well for me. Never used with lighter bullets.

Varget or 4064 will make the 70 grainers sing. I like 4064 or H4350 for larger bullets.

I am running 42.6 of IMR 4064 and getting 3425 fps with 75 grainers.

I have been working up a load of H4895 w/ Hornady 75 v-max that seems to shoot well in my savage.

Tried a few different loads and came up with 46 grains of H414 and 75 grain barnes solid bullets, Got a really tight group at 100 yards. Now will find out what fur damage comes ahead.

ridgerunner2, you are going to loose some yotes with those solids. Don't be surprised if the yotes act as if you missed.

I used to shoot the Sierra 75's with a case tapped off with H 4831

My .243Win. shoots the 75g V-Max seated 0.020" off the lands (2.614 COL in my rifle), into a half minute group after group using 44.0g of H4350, Win Brass, Wolf Primer.
