A couple folks on here wanted to know if I had any more videos with my Thermion XQ50. I got into a big bunch of hogs Saturday night so I will post that up. A couple things with this video though.
First off, I went out to shoot more coons. Because of that I had swapped onto my 556 using the Hornady 62 BTHP. Not exactly the best hog medicine out of a 14.5" AR. But it did OK. Next time out it will be back on my Grendel shooting 120 Gold Dots.
This happened out in a split pivot circle, half peanuts (where it started) and half cotton (that some of them ran out into). I was nearly standing in the two track that separates the two.
First group of hogs I did pretty decent on. I had to swing around a bit because I could hear them running past me and I had to make sure I wasn't about to get plowed over. Second group of hogs I just couldn't seem to get the range on. I thought I was missing my lead, but looking back on the video it looks like I was shooting high. I did get hits on several more though.
Lastly, that Adams piston upper is normally VERY reliable. I have never had it malfunction until that night. But with all the heat and sand, I just let it get too dry and dirty. My fault. After the first mag it turned into a single shot. A little lube had it running like a top again later, but too late.
I put 5 on the ground, 4 confirmed kills. Hits on at least 3 others. I got two solid hits on a big sow running through the cotton that never went down.
Converting to Youtube cut down the quality some, but still ok.
