or get your wifes cat and tie it to a brick, who cares

I like the cat idea, but better be quick on the trigger!

Anything that will move in the breeze will do fine; pheasant feather, chicken feathers, an entire dove wing works nice.

If I was you, I'd go squirrel hunting, too. I imagine it's fun. Plus, I think using a critter from your own turf can't hurt. The predators there should already know what they taste like.

jeepnjay, It's a small motor out of a dvd player, a bit smaller than a c-battery. It has a small plastic shaft/screw (that ran the gears in the player) about 1/2 inch long that I slipped a little rubber tubing onto (tubing came off a cheap sunglasses croakie). Stuck a turkey tail feather in the other end of the tubing. Split the shaft of the tail feather and slid a wing feather through it held in place with a rubberband. It is run by a single D-cell battery. I used an old single channel stereo cord with a headphone jack plug to hook it up to the fx3 (like a switch) so I could run it off the auxillary on my remote. Then I just taped the battery under the carry handle of the foxpro and the motor on top of the handle. Covered it up with a strip of tan cloth and rubberbands. If you want more pics or details feel free to PM me.

I'll try to post some pics of my latest little decoy. I like it even better, plus it has it's own remote so my 7yr old can run it if he is with me.

Watch Dog80, I didn't want to hijack the thread, but since it's your thread, I'll post it here. I'll try to get some more pics up tomorrow.

Your fine merdit, that is what this thread is about. I am trying to find the best homemade decoy that I can build with limited funds that you folks have had success with.
