Hornady 55 gr soft point question?

For years I have shot these bullets. They had a flat base. I just noticed that my newest bulk shipment are boat tailed. My questions are how do they shoot compared to the flat base? Did they shoot as accurately with the same powder charge as compared to the old flat bases? And was there any change in POI and velocity? I really don't want to have to go through the whole process of brand new load development for all my guns but I'm afraid I will have to. Any experiences on the matter would be appreciated.

?? I dont see that they list a 55 btsp on their site - I see BTHP and FMJ-BT, but no 55 in BTSP. Are they pulldown or re-labled bullets made special for somebody? As above, you only know when you work through loading protocol again.

Haha....read this....https://www.24hourcampfire.com/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php/topics/12595034/hornady-224-55grain-with-cannelure-btsp

Looks like both are being offered with the #2266 being BTSP vs the original FBSP but the website isnt spelling that out. Shows flat base, even says flat base on their site!

Im sure they'll shoot fine, maybe with a new load work-up, but they ned to straighten out their website!

I just got a box about two weeks ago...finally got to shoot them a few days back. They appear to definitely be one of the most accurate of the .224 caliber performance hunting bullets out there. Hornady hasn't impressed me with their bullets for accuracy lately, seems like they are falling apart, but these bullets group well. Nosler Performance Bonded worked very good too. Partitions....you might as well use buckshot!!!!

Same weight bullet as long(correct me if I'm wrong)as it has the same ogive but with an added boat tail should mean a slightly longer bullet with a slightly shorter bearing surface. Less bearing surface usually means less pressure so my guess to get them shooting equally may take a pinch more powder... .25-.5gr more???

Bushmaster varmint bbl load with the 55 bt hornady

LC brass
cci 400
24.5g of Benchmark
55g seated to x.x40 to fit magazine
Bug holes abound!
