I read on a post in this forum that Hornady brass sucks, is this correct? I have 100 rounds of .204 Ruger brass (Hornady Factory) that I want to use.

Hoping for the best.

Don't know who posted that but the .204 Ruger brass I have from Hornady is more consistent (length, weight, neck thickness)than either the Winchester or the Remington brass I have. Too bad it costs twice as much...............

I am not sure who makes Hornady brass but in my experience it turns off color and is hard to clean. Unless you have a really good rifle, you are not gonna know the difference between brass. My experience is with .223 brass and it shot fine.

I guess because of this obsession with the "bottom line" our components, as well as our rifles, are coming up bummers. I understand Hornady and Nosler both are going to produce what they call precsion brass so maybe help is on the way. Just one mans opinion. Best wishes.

I have used some Hornady 22-250 brass from some factory rounds I shot up. I think I have about 40 or so pieces of brass and I think they are as good or better than the Win brass I normally use. I have about three or four reloadings on them so far and have only lost one or two to case neck splits. I had them all hopped up pretty fast with 40 gr V-Maxes though, so that may have contributed to it. I couldn't really tell if the brass is any harder than the Win or Rem stuff though. Just my experience. For what they charge, I think the Win stuff is just a good and cheaper for most practical purposes, especially if you do a lot of case prep. The new Nosler brass is some pretty pricey stuff, but is supposed to be good. They deburr the flash holes and necks straight from the factory so you are paying more for the case prep they are doing. If you do it all yourself, you might as well just buy the cheaper stuff.
