Hornady cam lock bullet puller die

Didn't realize they sold just the cam part without the die, so after ordering it and hunting down a .224 collet I realize I have some nice paperweights! I can't seem to find the die part I need, does anyone know where to find one, or the part number? I also read I might be able to use a die body from another brand like RCBS, anyone tried that? Thanks guys.

I think calling Hornady would be the most efficient way to get this answer. Thanks for the heads up, as I have been looking at one. I need to make sure I have the whole assembly, it seems.

Definitely be sure, the part no for the puller ONLY is 050094, I think the whole thing is part 050095. I will be calling Hornady if I don't get a lead Monday morning, but I didn't discover the problem until I got home Friday, after business hours.

I considered the grip-n-pull but, "old art" is trying to creep into my fingers so I figured this puller wouldn't work for me. I went with the Hornady and couldn't be happier.

I also considered the grip n pull, but opted for the Hornady mainly because I figured it would be mechanically easier, plus I'm only reloading 22 cals at this time so I only need one collet. The wife will be really happy I'm no longer pounding on the floor with an inertia puller anymore, especially if the baby is tryin to sleep.

Simple but seems to work fine.

Seems rather clever. And no need for a bunch of collets. I may be getting one of these! It's now in my bookmarks...

Close muskrat, I already have the lever and plunger piece that screws into the die included in that setup. That was what I tried to order, but not what I accidentally ordered. I have no idea why they would offer it without the die...

Sorry, I never thought they would sell it without the body. I will say I am very happy with mine, much better than the hammer.

Don't over look the RCBS Collete bullet puller, sure you have to have a different Colette for each bullet DIA. They work as well as any of them and better than some. Does not damage bullet either.

An update - spoke to Hornady, they were very nice and said that part shouldn't even have been sold as such, though I've seen it a couple places now. They also said that part number shouldnt have a lock ring with it, and mine did. I got the die ordered through them, bad part is it was 20 bucks and 5 for shipping. Which brings my total for my cam lock without collet to about 45 bucks. Midway prices them at 20.19. Man being stupid gets expensive! If I had thought about it, I woulda just ordered another whole assembly and had a back up camming assembly.... Hopefully got my dose of moron out of the way for the day!

ETA - got it cancelled in time, reordered correct assembly for 4 dollars more. Now I have a spare toggle clamp.
