Anyone tried these in a 9 twist. I was looking at the 180gr berger that said 9 twist and decided to try the hornadys in stead. When I got home I noticed the box recommends an 8.5 twist and not 9 like the bergers.
Just wondering if anyone has tried them in a 7mm rm with a 9 twist.

Crap, you wil have to try them and see. They have to state a twist rate for all calibers.

What case are you shooting them in?

I am going to try them in some various mags and a 280 AI this year.

I loaded them in a 7mm Weatherby Mag with 1/9 and they shot fine at 200 yards.

Berger as well as Hornady it seems with the new advances in being able to verify ballistic coefficients way downrange have slightly changed their recommendations on twist rate.
I won't get into all the boring details but while the slightly slower twist rate will shoot just fine you may lose 2-3% of BC versus the faster twist rate.

Can't speak for the 7mm bullet but the 178ELD-X out of my 308 is nothing short of amazing. Groups under 1/2MOA and terminal performance has been great although I haven't killed many with it.
