So we're left in a quandary . I too bought some, (any powder better than none) but I have and want to use, a whole bunch of old 50gr Hornady SPSX slugs for my 22-250 . Hornady says to not exceed 3500 fps or they spin apart in flight
Hodgdons latest book and website do not give any additional information. But if as Darkker says.... if I use less powder, and get more velocity, .......then how in the heck is anyone to figure a safe, useful load for any bullet other than a 60 gr. ??
Also, even if I go to an '06 based case, 25-06, there's no load recommendations for that cartridge either.
By the way, I've used 60gr Noslers on my 1/12 twist 22-250 and they work fine.
