following group was shot yesterday using the new Hornady, 35 grain NTX from 223 rem, out of 14 inch barreled contender. Load was 26.5 grains of BW-36, (sim to 3031 or BL-C2) 3 shots under 1/2 inch, at 100 yds. Velocity unknown, as Chrono was dead. These bullets will shoot!

My son shot quite a few ground squirrels with the Hornady Superformance ammo in 223 Rem with the 35 gr NTX bullets. On the box it said they were over 4000 fps. I was amazed at what those bullets did to the squirrels.

It will work for small game but not Coyotes. My hunting partner shot 5 Coyotes this year with them and all have gone straight through the animal with ZERO expansion. I was hoping these would be the end all bullets for th NON TOXIC's but alas they aren't, either that or Southern California dogs are wearing kevlar. Adam

The 35 gr NTX bullets that I saw hit ground squirrels did not just pass through the squirrels. The 35 gr NTX bullets blew the squirrels up and threw them farther than any bullet I have ever seen. I don't think a 35 gr varmint bullet doing 3700 to 4000 fps will just pass through a coyote without doing any damage very often.

I don't want to use 35 gr to 40 gr varmint bullets on coyotes because they may not penetrate deep enough.

I was thinking the same thing and wouldn't have believed it unless I was there. These were also the 24gr NTX moving at 4400fps. I was really disapointed and we went back to the 32gr VMax and 35gr Berger. ADam

Have any of you shot the 35gr out of a 22-250? Getting varied opinions, but I was looking at that as an option to not getting a full pass through on a coyote or not as much damage to a Bobcat/fox. Any thoughts or experience out of the 250?

I hit a coyote at 50yds she drop dead with no exit with 223 35gr. Awesome round I was going to get a 204 now don't need one. Haha
