I agree that the non-hunters (as opposed to the antihunters) don't go searching for ammunition to discredit hunters. However, the antis don't lose any time disseminating any negative news they find. So much the better for them if it is a bunch of hunters discussing how much they enjoy seeing their quarry's blood and guts spattered all over.
Along those lines, if you follow any of the political sites you will frequently see the opposition show up to "troll" for stupid or otherwise damaging comments, either to inflate their own egos or to try to prove a point. Don't think for a minute that the anti hunters won't do the same on this (or any other hunting) board. Looking at the original posters command of the English language and recent member number I'd guess he is
1. A third grader looking for some attention.
2. An anti-hunter with some knowledge of guns/ammo trying to pose as a redneck.
3. Someone who hasn't progressed as far through the hunting experience as others on this board.

My opinion - clean, humane kills are most important. How best to achieve this - the proper bullet loaded at a velocity it is designed for placed in a vital area. The fascination with blood and guts either goes away soon as a hunter becomes mature or hunting becomes boring and the person spends their time renting "slasher" movies to get their thrills. Of course, your mileage may vary...

I would have to say that anti-hunters probably don't get on here very often, but that's just me. I don't go to housekeeping.com because i don't like it.

i think if you don't want to hear or see animals blown up they should start their own forum (club an animal to death forum.) the person who invented political correctness should get the cherry bomb up the yazooo......................

if a guy wants to shoot a vermin with a 20 mm cannon it's ok with me. i would much rather see a guy use too much gun than not enough. we owe the critters we hunt the respect of a quick departure.

most of the guys i know who hunt coyotes really love them not hate them, or should i say respect them.

as to bow hunting and shooting an animal with a arrow, i have shot deer and had them jump. the deer went right back to feeding as though he had been shtung by a bee. he then bedded down and went to sleep, a very long sleep.

Yes, lets change "exspoding varmits" to" Varmits flying in perfect orb in a spectacular reddish mist." Yes I do find all this PC pure nonesense, but it is a fact that the anti hunters will use how we identify our sport against us.While we can assume that very few anti's spend there time reading these post, rest assurd some do.I'm sure they print out those posts they can use against us for recruiting others. While we may think there a bunch of idiots, they're very oganized bunch of idiots.( with money). Our society is being conditioned to look for certain words to trigger anger at those using them.I'm pretty certain that using "cute little lovin fury ground hogs exsploding before your eyes in a thousand pieces "will shock most any person who doesn't hunt.Being from California I can tell you that the Anti's are ,well organized, well funded and of a violent nature.Lets not give them fuel.

FishnHunt,
In response to your criticisms of the reply I posted I am very confused by your remarks.

First, I don't recall any special requirements for the command of the English language being stated in the TOS agreement in registering for this site which by the way does include "flaming" other members as I recall.

Second, my third grade son would completely understand the context of the quote you decided to post as referring to the anti-hunting view. They don't care what type of kill you make, you're still a killer.

Third, an anti-hunter posing as a redneck??? Please......

And finally, hasn't progressed through the hunting experience? Now I'm really confused. You don't know me, have never met me, and yet you want to judge me? Seems to me you didn't read my entire post and "read" between the lines, but of course that would take something more than a third grade understanding of the English language wouldn't it.

Thought I'd jump in on this one to hopefully smooth things out: Cro-mag -- re-read Fishnhunt's posting. It's not aimed at you. The "3rd grader" he's talking about is the ORIGINAL poster of this topic -- "GIMPY" -- the first message on here. Read Gimpy's over again, and you'll see the "3rd grade/posing as a redneck", or whatever the case may be. Fishnhunt was quoting your message to agree with one of your statements, not to bag on you... Hope this clears things up. Weird that "Gimpy" has only posted a couple messages on this topic, and they both seemed to be from someone with only a 2nd grade education and a "gun book"...

Screw it... Very long post guaranteed to offend some people deleted...

This one just has to come up every so often, then go away, to be forgotten, until the next time...

But guys, please, don't try and tell the rest of us how to act, "for our own good". That kind of patronizing rhetoric is FAR more offensive, than simply telling us you despise what we do and think we "have a screw loose" or "have not matured" or "don't have enough experience" or whatever.
