How do you carry everything to the stand?

Lord have mercy! I have been going unprepared for almost 50 years now and didn't even know it. I have a zippo lighter (no I don't smoke) and a benchmade folder in my pocket when I go to the coffee shop to lie to my friends. When I am predator hunting I have a couple of calls on lanyards around my neck, an aluminum stool with a strap, and shooting stixs with a strap. My newly scoped M4A2 has a 10 round magazine and a sling. That's it. Oh yea, I take a drink of water before I get out of the jeep sometimes. No offense but some of you guys sound more like your going camping. I must be getting old. By the way. Did I spell aluminum right? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif

[sarcasm] Well, it is a little embarrassing to cart so much around. I mean, what would my father say? What if another hunter sees me with a backpack on?! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif After all, it all weighs about 1/4 as much as my old Johnny Stewart predator call, and that 5 lbs (including water) REALLY weighs me down, and heck, we all know the true measure of a man and hunter is how little he carries into the woods with him. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowingsmilie.gif [/sarcasm]

It seems like alot of you fellas carry binocs,how-come?

I only carry them for stands where I'm trying to call in a bobcat, so I can give the area a good go over right before I get up to leave. Look under all the trees and bushes and into the shady areas that are hard to see by eye.

Rifle or shotgun (Harris Pod mounted), Two calls around my neck (one open reed, one bite style), Small howler, Pad to sit on, two dog chains for packing critters.

Are you guys kidding me! Pruning Shears? Who are you guys.....Edward Scisorhands cousins?

I just can't think of any reason for the shears? Are you making trails? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Not making fun.

Predator Paul, Those pruning shears come in handy here in the east, where we call from alot of brushy fences and in thickets. Easier to cut twigs and briars out of the way rather than havin to switch gun alignment through all that debris while a coyote is workin his way downwind of you. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

OK, I'll go with that. How about just moving to a spot where you don't have to do that. Or are good spots that hard to come by?

And I thought I was the only one carried pruners. Glad to see others do. I use them all the time. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

Yeah, position is key to success, we have alot of rollin hills that by moving 10 ft. could make a stand go bad. I use to just use my hands to bend and break things out of the way but i'm tired of gettin stabbed by briars /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif..lol

Rifle, bullets, calls, Toilet paper or baby wipes (oh so nice)cell phone and a camel back to hold the tp/extra rounds. The other stuff stays in the truck.

There's nothing like a Predator Hunter in uniform! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

Agree on the paper towels. Many more uses than TP, and stronger. I also carry a plastic trash bag, it has many uses. I use one to carry back kills, works great at keeping blood and ticks off you.
