How do you carry your gear 'yote hunting?

Every time I turn around it seem like I get another piece of gear to chase yotes with. Just purchased a Spitfire and was wondering how you carry your e-caller. Do you use a padded bag or just throw it over your shoulder with a strap?



I would like to get a good turkey vest with a nice padded seat but would rather have a secure compartment to keep the Spitfire in.



Turkey hunters have their "vest", do varmint hunters have a "vest" to call their own.

Let me tell you what...Yoters Den Callers Caddy is the cats crack! carries all of your calls, your ecaller remote and if you leave a pocket open, your sunglasses when using a scoped rifle!!! i will be doing a full review next week but from using it, it is the next best thing to sliced bread and i aint kidding! the callers caddy and the game face hat i am so sold on!!! and if you use a dove bucket with a padded swivel seat all your crap goes inside and then sit on it and spin!!!

I carry a camo backpack which holds my seat cushion, shooting sticks, decoy, FX3, and a few other misc. items. Works for me!
 
I carry a Crooked Horn Masterguide II pack. My Crazy Creek chair (just like the Randy Anderson one) goes in the scope pocket. I stick my shooting sticks and turkey feather on a stick decoy in there. Ammo and calls go in the smaller pocket, with one hand call in each of the "flashlight" pockets. Rangefinder and TP in the side pockets. Foxpro and fleece neck gaiter (for when the temp drops) in the secondary large pocket. It all stays in there and it's really comfortable to carry.
 
I tote the FX-3 in the left hand (no cute little bags or boxes) with shoot sticks and foldy chair (like a stadium chair or the famous barka lounger from Randy videos). Sling the rifle and go. GPS and chute chord (great for dragging coyotes to the truck) go in the cargo pocket of my pants. No need for packs. Remote is on a lanyard around my neck and goes inside the jacket or shirt so it isn't flopping around when not in use.
 
I bought a vest from Gander Mountain for 50 bucks last season. Its got a pad for your back and a padded seat that hangs on the back..Also has like 15 pockets..So I have no issue

Primos makes a predator vest. I opted for their turkey vest though...being the cheaper of the two helped.

I used to carry a waterproof blind bag I had bought for duck hunting...you could get to gear quickly without taking the bag off your person.

I would suggest a vest with a small blind bag for your FoxPro. I don't own a FoxPro but if I did I would agree 100% about keeping it protected.

Part of the reason I use a pack is so that when big game season rolls around, I'm used to the pack. Also, when I'm going down here to call for cats, I like to have my hands free:

I've hunted this canyon from here to the end and it's nice to be able to put put my rifle in the Masterguide's carrier when scrambling up those rocks or hiking back along the top in the dark.
 
Eberlistock J104... haven't put a sling on a rifle in over two years now. Holds everything I need... and leaves my hands free for glassing. If something needs shot... the rifle is out in a big hurry. Only problem is, every time I pull that rifle from the back scabard... I feel like yelling "I HAVE THE POWER"... He-Man style. It really tends to spook the dogs in the area.
 
I have all my goodies packed in a shoulder bag which allows me to walk in and sit, without having to take the pack off. Seems to work well.
 
I use an old military pack, single-sling it over my shoulder for carrying.

Since I don't seem to walk as far away from the truck as I do while deer or elk hunting, I don't take my main hunting pack, plus I don't realy need all the same gear, nor do I usualy carry a lunch, I can be back at the truck for lunch, and it doesn't have to be a set time.

I haven't gotten use to the idea of a call-lanyard, I keep all my mouth calls in a "Kline" canvas bag (white), and the electronic stuff in another "Kline" canvas bag (this one is dark green), with spare batteries, spare ammo, etc.

The speaker sits in the main compartment with a couple of face veils, and my fold-up shooting sticks.

Me too i wear a turkey vest,the pocket for a long box call holds a mojo critter perfectly.
I put the e caller in the big back pocket with my ground seat but pad.
And all the other pockets carry everything else i need.
My vest has more pockets than i need,alot of them stay empty.
 
I carry my FX5 on a shoulder strap, a couple hand calls in my shirt pocket, a few extra rounds in my other shirt pocket and my rifle in my hands. thats all I bring coyote hunting.

I use one of those Primo's Harness packs. I just got it a couple of weeks ago and I think it's the perfect compromise for a two gun hunter. I can sling my shotgun across my back comfortably and still carry any gear I want. Two hunts, ten stands, zero complaints.

Last time out I brought along a folding chair that I have like this:

Mine has a camo pattern though. The bottom is a soft side cooler and has a pouch on it. I never use the cooler for anything but come to think of it I think it would make for a very nice padded carrying case for an e-call. Extra ammo and other odds and ends can go in the side pouch. It is nice and light and has a shoulder strap that makes it easy to carry.

You aren't very compact when sitting on it though so you need a good background to blend into if you are trying to stay invisible. I haven't checked but height wise I think it would make for a pretty decent rest to shoot from if you put it in front of you when sitting on the ground. I'll have to give that a try the next time I am out.
 
I use a Primos blind bag because I take way too much stuff. Here is a list of what I have in my predator calling bag.

Foxpro Fury
Fury remote (attached to bag with paracord so you can't forget it)
Mojo Critter
Lanyard of 6 hand calls
12 extra AA NiMh batteries
10 or so extra .223 ammo
3 extra 12 GA 3" BB's (never know which gun I will have on stand)
Gorillapod
Digital camera
Surefire G2 flashlight
2 extra lithium batteries for flashlight
Small Knife
Braided paracord coyote drag
Reserve can of Skoal Original
Bic lighter (I don't smoke, but you never know when you might need to burn something)
Small ziplock bag of Cottonel Wipes (At any given time, these can become the most inportant item in the bag)


Do I win the award for overkill?

I know this seems like a lot, and it is a little on the heavy side. However, I always know where all my stuff is and it always ready to roll.
