How do you dispense powder from your powder measure??

I have a question for those of you using a powder measure like the RCBS or Lyman. I am wondering how you keep powder from bouncing out of the tube when you drop your powder?

When I throw a charge that I plan to weigh on the scales, the little metal scale tray is shallow enough that I experience some powder bouncing out when the powder hits it. I can use a funnel under the drop tube, but that takes one hand on the handle of the measure, one hand on the funnel, and one hand holding the pan. What is a better option?

I am using an RCBS powder measure and an RCBS scale/pan.

The goal is to not end up with scattered powder grains on the bench.

I hold the pan right up to the drop tube.

It works fine, no powder spilled.

How I do it as well

Do as others have said and on top of that work the handle the same every time, not rough one time and easy the next as this will cause more inconsistencies when dispensing your powder.

Like everyone said, however, some powders will bridge (get stuck in the drop tube). I always lift the handle and click it twice at the top when filling and then bring the handle down to drop the powder and click it twice. Works well for me. I don't really care if a kernel bounces out, cause I am going to weight it and use my dribbler to bring it up to weight. Now if just loading plinking fodder for the grandkids, I load using the two click method straight into the cartridge. No pan used or weight taken.
