How do YOU get case lube off your brass??

I am looking for a better way to clean up the case lube on my brass after i FL size. I just have been using a cloth towel and it is very time consuming. I didn't know if any of you fellas had a better idea? Thanks Lee

I put mine in the tumbler for half an hour to an hour. Nice dry clean cases to work with.

I change media pretty frequently and save the old stuff just for this.

I just use a old cloth or papertowel dampened with some alcohol and wipe each case as it comes out of the size die. Not hard at all, no muss no fuss towel on left hand remove case with right put in towel roll between thumb and fingers in towel then put in loading block to wait for next stage, takes longer to write it than to do it.

Rather than check case length and trim only those that need trimming, I have developed a little different procedure. I use the Lee case trimmer, driving the case with a cordless drill and trim each time the case is reloaded. This is just as quick as checking length and separating those needing trimming and has the added benefit that every case is exactly same length.

To reduce the number of times I must handle each case, I drilled two holes in a short piece of hardwood, then split it through center of holes and mounted the Lee case trimmer and a chamfering tool in the handle.

First all lubed cases are resized, then each case is placed in the shell holder and driven in cordless drill. Step one is to run the case trimmer, then inside/outside chamfering tool. While the freshly trimmed and still lubed case is in chuck, lay down trimming tool(s), pick up a soft cotton rag and hold case tightly while spinning case quickly removing the lube. Once this step is complete, cases are ready proceed w/normal reloading process.

A bit different, but works for me.

I put them in tumbler with corn and walnut, some car wax cleaner, and I cut up some used anti-cling stuff the wife uses in the dryer as it cleans the media.

4 parts boiling water, 1 part white vinegar, and some dish detergent. Soak and agitate sevral times over 15min,...dry in the oven at 200*.

Here lately, I don't. I lube them, size them, remove them, then hand them to my son to wipe them off. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

If you are using a rag to wipe case lube off, spray a small amount of Ronsonol lighter fluid on the rag first. If I am loading 50 or less cases, this is my method of removing the lube. I will also use a q tip with some lighter fluid on it to remove the lube and carbon from inside the case neck.

I usually do a couple hundred rounds at a time so I just toss mine in a plastic container with about three cups of laquer thinner. I just swish'em around for a few seconds and then use an old pasta strainer to drain off the excess into another container. I then lay them out on a clean dry towel to dry while I do something else. When they are dry I toss them into my tumbler and walk away for the night. That way I don't contaminate my tumbling media nearly as fast.

Buy a tumbler and spend your time doing something else. I used the rag an alcohol method for a while and its not worth it in the least. A tumbler is really something any reloader should have, although it can be done without it.

Have you ever had cob or walnut shell get stuck in the flash hole? I have. I ended up having to poke out the stuck cob by hand. I use Hornady's One Shot. After sizing I lay a towel down, lightly spray it with WD40 them put the sized brass on it and rub them around. It gets the sizing lube off and preserves the cases so they don't start to get dull.

depends on the lube to be honest, I use Hornady one shot which dries quickly. If you use KY it never dries. C'mon ,what a silly post Lee, get with the program.
