How do you mount a maglite to a shotgun??

Apparently there is a place to get the mounting bracket to mount a flashlight onto a shotgun?? Can anyone help me here. I want to go with a 3 or 4 D cell mag-lite. Should that be sufficient with a shotgun? Thanks!

Can't help you with the Mag Light (too fragile, big, heavy for me). I prefer the following from Surefire - take a look and see if it fits your needs. This light and mounting system is designed for shotgun use (and abuse). Normal lights can not take the hammering that a shotgun will give out. Same problem with many red dot and holo sights that get mounted on shotguns.

good luck.......

I've been to Surefire in Fountain Valley, Ca. Great stuff and a pretty good operation. Tad on the expensive side, but shotgun is right...that light is going to take a beating. You need strength and durability if mounting on a shotgun, or any weapon for that matter.

Lonegunman beat me to it.

If you can't fix it with some duct tape or bailing wire(John Deere tape) then just get rid of it.That makes my wife mad she is always saying can't you fix it right?I tell her it works doesn't it? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

See I told you I'd be back soon! LOL

Like Bob said, Surefire is a great light. If you want to try something cheaper, you may try the Pelican brand Stealth Light. It is flat sided, takes 4 2AA batts that last way longer than expected.

I use RC car velcro battery straps to secure it to my rifle or shotgun. However, I've used it on my shotgun very little. Mostly on my ARs so I can't promise it will withstand the recoil of a shotgun. ARs are pretty gentle kicking in comparison. The light has good range. The beam is nonadjustable but perfectly focused for night calling I think. Waterproof.

We use a spotlight then switch to the gun mounted light for the shot.

Here's a link. http://www.pelican.com/main.htm The product number is #2400. About 1/2 way down the page.

Good luck, Curt
