I just couldn't resist jumping in on this one. I bought a Rock Chucker in 1978. Used it a couple of years and sold it to a guy I work with. He is still using it. Can't imagine how many rounds have been loaded on that one. About 20 yrs. ago I bought a Savage 223 and decided to get back into reloading. Before I could buy another Rock Chucker, A friend came to my house with a large box full of reloading stuff. Shotgun and metallic case. His father in law has recently passed and had a lot of reloading gear. He said he wanted me to have it if I wanted it. He would not let me pay him anything for it. I was glad to take the stuff. I didn't even look thru the box. After he left, I went thru the box and found a pristine Herters Super Model B press. This was a beast of a press with a 1.25 inch ram. The top half looked like a cylinder with one side cut out so you could reach into the shell holder. I am not sure how old it was at the time. Herters has been out of business for years. The shellholder was a real odd ball. I wound up taking the only shellholder in the box to a local machine shop and had it milled so that a standard RCBS shellholder would slide into it. Probably loaded 10,000 rnds of 223 Rem., and 243win. on that press behind I retired it. Still have it. a Herters siver/lubricator, a set of Herters dies for a 7.65 Arentine Mauser. I have had a Rock Chucker for 15 yrs. and it is still like new. Great press. Sorry for the long post.
