I use one. I do not own a tumbler. I have only been loading a little over a year though. Its gets them pretty clean. However is does not polish them or make them shiny. I have been trying to talk myself into the stainless media just haven't been able to make myself pull the trigger.

Once you use a tumbler with stainless media you will have a hard time going back to anything else.
Not only is it the very best thing you can get for getting your brass factory new looking, but the media last for a lifetime.

I need to but that $300 buys a lot of bullets.
$300?? Where in heck did you get that figure? Stainless media is way cheaper than gold.
Get you a used Thumler's Tumbler (around $25 on Craigslist) and another $35-40 for media and get after it.
A gallon of water and a tablespoon of dishwashing detergent when you clean is your total expense then for life. Not bad I would say.
I have the new Hornady sonic cleaner, and it works good for cleaning brass, but it really works great for cleaning the parts on my pistols and AR's. I still use the tumbler for shineing up my brass.

The 300 was for the kit from STM. I will keep an eye out for the used tumbler. Sorry for the hijack. What Riflemann said about cleaning small parts I drop the trigger groups out of my model 60's and the 10-22. Then blow dry with compressed air. Lube It works great. With so many special purpose tools it is nice to have something that has dual purpose.
