Forgive me if this has been asked and answered but I haven't been on PM in a loooong time?We are in the infancy stages of starting a PHA here and planning to lobby for night hunting coyotes eventually so I'm looking for some facts to support this,ie:"Night hunting for coyotes is presently allowed in XX # of states/provinces"

Thanks for any input,Grinr

Here in Pennsylvania we can night hunt yotes, and besides, you might want to keep in mind that the predator hunting community, as a whole, ranks amongst the safest of any group of hunters anywhere........Good Luck,

John

well, right next door to you
maine allows night hunt coyotes from Dec 16 to the end of May

night raccoon hunting is also allowed.

Add NY to the list.

And when it comes to what things are allowed and what aren't...NY tends to have more in the "aren't" category usually.

VA allows hunting any predator 24 hours a day, cept sundays from 2am til midnight. Coyote, coon, bobcat, fox, opossum and skunk.

That's true. No silencers either.

Missouri had a "No Artificial Light" law with the exception of Coon Hunting... Missouri also outlaws the possession of silencers as well, under any circumstances, other than law enforcement departments..

NJ allows it in January, February, and half of March. The dates were extended into March new for this coming year.

Lights are permitted.

It's shotgun only at night, with restrictions on shot size.

in New York ...you CAN use a laser to hunt coyote at nite

Q: What types of scopes are prohibited in New York?
A: Any scope that projects light beyond the body of the scope, including laser sights, is prohibited for hunting deer and bear in New York. Artificial lights, including laser sights, may be used at night to hunt coyote, fox, raccoon, or bobcat. You may not use artificial lights to hunt big game.

Indiana allows night hunting on fur-bearing animals: coyote, fox, skunk, possum, racoon. Bobcats are protected here though.

peace.

In WV you can night hunt coyotes from Jan. 1 - Jul. 31st with a red or amber lens only. And you can only use rimfire or shotgun. Foxes & bobcats are daylight hours only.

You can hunt at night in Kansas but can't use artificial light. I wish they would let us hunt with lights, that seems to be the best time to hunt around here.
