How often do you call the same spot?

I really need to get out and talk to some people and get some more stands lined out but how often will you guys hit one spot? On those nights when they howl but dont respond it seems like it wouldn't hurt to try them again the next night. If you shoot the place up how long do you like to let them alone?

If I dont call anything in I am not worried about calling it over and over. I might switch up where I sit a little but I figure if nothing busts me im good to call it again with little time between the last time I hit it. Same for spots I call in one dog and get a kill, if I dont miss I figure I didnt educate any (leave any witnesses) so I will call it again after about a week has passed. I think where you might run into problems are spots where you may have missed or got busted, those spots I would let cool down for awhile.

I've killed as many as a half a dozen coyotes in a year in the same spots. There are certain spots (we may call them honey holes) that are perfect when the wind is blowing a particular direction. Don't wear it out, don't use it to often, use your head and you will realize a good spot is a good spot. Timing is everything.

The other thing to consider is calling it a different time of the day. Many spots will produce in the evening and not in the morning and vice versa depending on the local coyote's home range/territory and time of day. If I call an area a lot and have had success, I will often try to call it from a different stand location as well as use different sounds.

The last couple of weeks we've been hitting some of our spots once a week or better. Mixing up stand locations and sounds. My thinking is, I want to try to call in as many as I can now before our deer shotgun season starts on Dec 2nd. When shotgun season starts they will not remember anything about the rabbit/bird/whatever sound they heard before. They will be pushed around, shook up, and shot at for the next three weeks during daylight hours.
After all that I think it turns into a crap shoot till the breeding season for us.

We shoot one every other time we hunt it.

If it is a nice area and has all the wants/needs of a Coyote such as food, shelter and water then a new Coyote would be happy to take over the area.

Kill the lead dog and then another will be happy to move in.
