how rare or not is my gun?

I picked up a new A-bolt varmint stalker in .204 yesterday. The browning catalog lists the extra mags for the .204 but no a-bolts are chambered in it.

From what i read on 204ruger.com the .204 was only chambered in a few a-bolts and then they stopped. Is there any truth to this? And does it make the gun worth less or more in the long run if in fact it is a discontinued chambering?

Looks like you were right. I would guess that it is worth more than when you bought it.
 
If your plan is to use the gun.... and never get rid of it...it won't matter. If you bought it as an investment then it may be worth something someday.
 
Browning A-bolts are meant to be used, not collected!

Should be a heckofa rifle. Go out and have fun with it. If you decide later that you want to get rid of it and someone just has to have an A-Bolt in .204, you will not have a problem getting your money back out of it.
 
Depends on how many were made. Also depends on if you shoot it or not. Collectors want in box unfired rifles. However, don't know of many who collect Browning A-Bolts
