HOW TO CARRY TRAPPING GEAR

I WAS WONDERING HOW EVERYONE CARRIES THERE TRAPPING GEAR WHEN IN THE FIELD WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO TAKE THE TRAPS LURES AND OTHER TOOLS IN THE FIELD

I prefer a canvas bag for dirt or coal shale, I use a large canvas-leather bag for the tools. I have a trapping bag for the lures. They sell trapping bags at places like O'Gorman's. A bucket is tippy, and the thing you need is usually on the bottom. I like the big bag I have , I open it up and most of the items are in sight, easy to get at. The bags come with or can be made to use a shoulder strap, that helps, also.T.20

i trap straight off of my atv. i have a rack setup in front for all of my gear that needs to stay clean. i also have a rack in back that i use for the "bloody" end of things.... i have a bucket fixed up with compartments for wire, pliers, sifter..........etc......
i usually make my sets within 20-30 yards of the atv......my trapping partner (my 12 year old son) is a good go'pher......
if i was going to run a walking line, i would use a trapper's basket
good luck

A 5 gallon bucket works well. Plastic doesn’t hold much scent and is easy to clean. I’ve been eyeing plastic tubs at Wal-Mart. I just need to find a good way to strap it to the 4-wheeler.

I trap straight out of the bed of my truck or from an ATV. I use a 5-gallon bucket to carry stuff to the set if I am setting a trap that's a little bit of a walk. When I used to walk my line I used a trap basket for traps/tools and carried a small plastic bucket with a lid for bait/lure. I still use that basket when wading the streams.

feed sacks or burlap sacks make a great way to carry stuff on a walk-in line and are light when empty.

I use the plastic bucket with an apron that fits around the top of the bucket. The apron has pockets that holds the different kinds of lures and baits,i use. It also holds other things i use,like..scissors,pliars,screw driver, file, popsicle sticks, and etc.

All the bigger stuff goes inside the bucket..traps,digger,sifter,hulls,waxed dirt, long spikes, poleyester fiber or squares,stakes/earth anchors and etc.

i bought a replacment strap kit for a trapping basket and put it on a small plastic garbage can. i use the belt style pouches and have them on the outside of the can attached to the strap.... all the benefits of a plastic bucket, lots of pouches for scent and lures, and enough room for all you want to carry.
