Howa Mini Action in 223

Not sure if u could change the mag out for the standard floor plate or not, that may ne an option for you...i use a bipod so wont have issues hitting mag release...we shall see though, just have to try it for myself. Did your rifle come with scope bases?

I talked to someone at Legacy Sports and they do not have any other options other than the current magazine. They do have a 5-round, buts it the same mag with a block in it.

I ordered the Talley for it. Like that mounting system.

Hopefully you have good luck with yours. They shoot and feel great. Hopefully they will eventually come out with ano improved stock and hinged floor plate model. I'd probably have to have a couple then, and maybe a custom...

Do u happen to have a part # for the talley kit? As with anything new i imagine it will be some months before any aftermarket items surface. I wish a wood or laminate stock was available also, the hogue def iant my 1st choice....but if it shoots well enough not a concern.

I used the same mounts I have on my standard 1500's. Tally #940734. Believe its the same one for the 700.

I have a weaver super slam 3-15×50 to put on it, i plan to use it for groundhogs and night calling. Thanks for the part #... other than a Timney trigger i dont think many Howa parts are available

You will need a 30mm set of Talley's then. The part # I have is for 1" Mediums. Should be on Tally's site though.

Good scope choice!

I sold mine before I even shot it. The howa Timney won't fit the bottom metal "plastic", and the mag release is the worst design I've seen. I'll get a .223 in standard model next time. On an up note, the local gun store gave $25 more trade in value for it than I paid Buds gun shop for it.

I bought a Howa Mini 204 Ruger in Kyriptk with clip. Asked Legacy about getting the clip replace with a magazine. They don't have that option right now. I would think that a magazine from previous change out on older Howa would work. The release is totally wrong on the Mini. Using shooting sticks or on the bench the release hits on both items and clip releases. The Legacy rep. stated they are looking at shortening the release lever. I haven't done it yet but I will. I have had clip come out 2 times on me. The clip feeds and loads very nicely. I never was a clip guy anyway. The Mini shoots nice group already and other than the clip I really like the Mini.

What model or you talking about with a clip?

I got one in 223 with the detachable magazine but ordered the model with the internal magazine and floor plate. They sent the wrong one and I kept it.

Model 1500 Mini.It came with a 10 round clip. I cut the release lever down to within a 1/8" it still works fine and I think that it will take care of the problem of clip dropping out accidentally. Just got the Howa Mini 204 Ruger about 3 weeks ago. Rudy

The bottom metal off the standard won't work. The action is shorter in the mini, the holes for the bottom metal of the standard short action would not line up with the mini action.

The Howa mini mag release is in front of the mag it's self. I dropped my mag out on the floor prolly 5 times when I first got it. I think the standard action legacy mag conversion is a much better, well thought out design than the howa mini we are talking about.
