Howa vs Ruger vs Savage

How did the rifle function ?
I'm told that the 110 rifles have the newly designed accutrigger and jeweled/cerakote bolt with radial extractor and dual ejectors.
That combined with the tooless fully adjustable V2 stock and AICS magazine should make them a great choice for predator hunters.
And they offer left hand models too.

Hornady black 75 eldm's flew 5 inside an inch, same with the 62 eldvt loading in white box hornady. The metal aics mag isn't the easiest to load, and it doesn't like single feeding rounds from the top.

Trigger is the better accutrigger, and breaks clean and lighter than normal.

Stock is a fiber reinforced polymer material and feels solid in the hands with an aluminum mini chassis internal. The combo adjusts easily, I think length of pull is adjusted with spacers. Only complaint is the wrist area feels dainty to my hands, but is probably comfortable with smaller shooters.

When you factor in that you can buy it, then go slap it in a tripod and hunt without spending on arca rails, pic rails, threading, and a chassis, its a heck of a deal.

Id have bought 1 in 6 arc had it been available, and im a tikka snob.

Well crafted review, Thanks!

The Savage Accufit V2 stock has tooless adjustable LOP + comb height and all of the five CORE models have changeable grip modules.
MDT sells an AICS magazine loader that makes loading AICS magazines a breeze. ( MDT Mag loader )
The CORE predator model comes in 13 calibers, left handed and made in America since 1894.
Savage has stepped up their game.

Had 3 rugers, sold them all, while they shoot decent to good, they fed mediocre to terrible. Their stocks are super flimsy and the triggers were a crap shoot. Ruger now wants $650 for them.
I won a ruger American 308 in a raffle by the local Shiners. I still very much prefer the M77 tang safety.

I'm not going to bash Rugers, I know a lot of folks like them. I've had a couple and they were OK for the price you pay. My only reason for including the Ruger is its on the shelf locally as is the Howa. ( The Howa is $999, it has a carbon barrel.) The Savage is actually on the top of my list but I have to order it. I just like it better and I have had good luck with Savage rifles in the past. I bought another Sako a couple of weeks ago so all three are on hold till the gun money replenishes itself.

I personally run a howa, I love the new savage core. The howa can be had for 6 w/o the carbon barrel. Shooting a factory howa hb 6arc against a savage core 22arc, howa did better but marginally better. Handloads in the savage may flip the tables. Savage has the out of the box advantage probably all things considered. The howa in a chassis, jard trigger, I dunno...

The issue with the Ruger Americans is that they started off as a very accurate budget rifle. Today, are they really a budget rifle? They have increased their prices so much that just a few dollars more you can buy a nicer Tikka, CVA, etc.

Agreed, or if you catch euro on a sale, you can get a Tikka cheaper. I ended up getting a ranahan 223 for $650. Feeds and shoots easy better than the ruger ever did.

Howa has building rifles for a long time. They imported Golden Bear bolt actions in then1960s then as the S&W 1500 and then Weatherby Vanguard and under their own name.

They only Ruger I liked was the Number 1. Savage is a decent platform but is no longer the inexpensive rifle that you could build at home. I'm about done building on them. I really like the Howa Mini, my days of needing a full size action are done, I have my Whelen, my medium actions are fulfilled and the only thing interesting me now.would be a slow twist 22 ARC.

It had a carbon barrel. Nice looking rifle.
I bought that version for 6... now to get it shooting like a tikka..
