Howler with ELK inc. mouthpiece

I had a request by a former world coyote vocalization champion
to reproduce the howler he used to win. And here it is....cow horn with a a ELK inc toneboard.

There's video of JD firing this up on my facebook page if anyone wants to see it.

(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/en_US/sdk.js#xfbml=1&version=v2.3"; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);}(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk'));So glad you like it JD. Should be the last thing they hear before....Lights Out.Posted by Lights Out Predator Calls on Thursday, April 23, 2015

Bought one of these howler's from John and it arrived a couple day's ago. I wanted to mess with it a little before commenting on it because it's the first time I have ever tried an ELK inc tone board.The howler itself is a great looking call. Where the tone board attaches to the horn is seamless and looks like it was meant to be there.After a couple days of messing around I am able to get some really good vocalizations out of it.Glad I picked one up.

Thanks again John,
Mike

Although I have never tried using one of the E.L.K. howlers, I am really digging the ones you are putting with the horns!

Love the transition from mouthpiece to horn...looks very "natural".

Curious (if you don't mind)......are you taking the mouthpieces off from factory Power Howlers?
Or, is a person able to buy the mouthpieces by themselves, from E.L.K.?
{I don't see the parts listed on their site...only the replacement bands.}

{BTW, I am not asking these questions with then intention of trying to cut in on your turf. I am just curious. I haven't even seen a Power Howler in person @ a local store. Being an open reed howler guy, I would probably not even be able to work one of those latex ones.}

Good questions Will--
Inquiring minds want to know ---
Have attended some contests and the power howlers do sound good and loud ----
But not for everyone -- I have one that I can't quite get the hang of --YET
Great work John --
Thanks
