How's your season going so far?

Let's all do a check in and see how everyone's season is going so far. How many have you killed and how many trips have you been out into the field? Do you hunt daytime, nighttime or both? What are of the country do you hunt? And last but not least post your favorite picture from this year!

As for myself I hunt Washington state. I have made 6 trips out so far and they have all been daytime hunts. So far I have killed 10 coyotes and called in 15.

So far me and the guys that have called coyotes with me have taken 23 coyotes in California. We killed 4 coyotes on one day and 7 coyotes on another day and had 3 days we didn't kill any.

I shot these two coyotes on one stand with my shotgun.

On the very next stand my hunting buddy JP7mag used his rifle to kill 2 coyotes.

On the first day that I hunted with Al Morris in California, Al killed 5 coyotes with his rifle and I killed two with my shotgun.

I have been out one full day, a morning hunt and a few stands after work. 6 for the full day, 3 for the half day and 3 after work nothing too exciting. I have a house full of kiddos and hardly have time to get out like I used to when the kids were younger. I still enjoy it just as much or more as I ever have. Hoping I can get out again before Christmas and new years.

I live in south central Nm, born and raised. I lived in SE Arizona for 7 years but made our way back home to be with family.

all night kills so far. Not sure of the nights and or days hunted. 35 dead and a couple missed. But my season runs from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31.

arielp, that one coyote looks like a GIANT!

Congratulations.
Yes sir, it was a double and the male was 40lbs. Skinned out good and I got a nice big skull to boil from it. He was a pig for sure. Could have been a shotgun kill but all I had was a 223 on stand.

It's funny last year I was just a hot mess. Missing so many easy shots. Making super rookie mistakes. I got into my head really bad and lost a lot of coyotes because if it.
This year I have had zero expectations and haven't even kept track of how many I have killed. Something about not stressing has brought my confidence back which has improved my shooting as well.
Doing a rough count in my head I must be up to 20coyotes with 2 shotgun coyotes and a shotgun fox!

Mediocre. Started later cause I want to save these nice Montana coyotes to tan and just haven’t seen a lot. Think I’ve called in 7-8 in 20-30 stands day and night, shot 4 got a buddy into 1 and another buddy’s kid a biggy Missed a gimmee don’t know happened but if I had been carrying a shotgun he would’ve been at the call 20 feet away dead to rights. Had a rancher put a horse out and was going to b watching that but picked up a bout of Bell’s palsy so now I’m shot cause I can’t close my eye. Might’ve worked for night hunting cause it’s dark but I’m giving up and heading to Arizona later this week for awhile. They’ll be there when I get back.

I’ve got 7 total so far and have been out 3 times. Should be 10 but I’ve made some rookie mistakes like leaving the shotgun in the truck and getting caught with a sandwich in my hand instead of a gun.

Finally got my first double ever today! Hunting North and South Dakota during the day.

No matter how many, I'm always one short of enough. I hunt often and make too many stands to try and keep track. I don't keep a running count of kills either. Numbers just aren't important to me. They just clutter my brain and there's enough clutter there already.
Knowing the number wouldn't cause me to hunt more or less often and I'm not in a competition with anyone other than Wiley Coyote.
What I do though is throw the brass from the kill shots in a container and count them at the end of the season while boxing them back up. Here is the container for so far this season.

Either sex rifle deer season ended here yesterday and with almost 2000 non-resident and untold resident tags issued, in the brush is not a good place to be. I'm itching to get back after them.
