I'm thinking of building up a rifle just the way I want!

It will be a sporter contour barrel. Going to be an HS Precision with bedding block. Have a B&C pillar bed stock now and it's not stiff enough.

My ? for you is ...Who has the best price on the HS stocks?

I have Cabelas and Midway prices now.

Thanks in advace......

Tim,I just went with midway. You only can get black but Cabelas is now charging tax if you have a store in your state plus shipping. With midway it's only shipping.Natchez has a great price but they are never in stock. Brownells is higher than all of them. You may look at the bell and carlson medalist for around 240 + shipping. I've got a couple and can't tell much difference.
Good luck Denny

Tim, going ADL pretty much throws out the B&C they only have the bedding block in the BDL. I'd say midway is the way to go. Denny

Tim, a take-off rem TI stock would be worth a look as well. They are supposedly ALOT of stock for the money and usually fetch about $175ish when they come up for sale.

Here is a pic of what that stock looks like.

Pillars, Tim.
They are made for Remmy by Bell &Carlson from Kevlar & Aramid material...

I've got two AWR stocks (same but with a rounded handgrip) for my Model Sevens and they are real slick, lightweight handles...

There is a dude on eBay that has 700 TI stocks for sale, but they are ~$300 IIRC. Found him while looking for the model Seven stocks...

If you are wanting to keep weight to a minimum for a carry rifle, this is a handle to consider. You'd be hard pressed to find a stock, short of a McMillan EDGE or Mathers Carbon fiber, with the same strength/weight characteristics. Both will cost you more than a TI and you'll have to wiat for one to be built...

Thanks knock'emdown.

I'll do some eBay checking. I don't need a super light gun,but under 9 lbs for sure! I have a Rem LVSF now. It's not bad on weight ,just don't like the wimpy stock along with the sharp edges on the forend. On a good yote hunt I'll walk 3-6 miles before getting back in the truck!
A stock I really like is my Kinber Montana, it's lite and tuff as nails! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif
