Hunter Orange?

Hey guys! Just had a quick question? What are the requirements for the wear of hunter orange for coyote hunting kansas? I usually hunt private land but I have been going out on public land lately. I have not read anything about having to wear it except if you are deer or pheasant hunting. Are those the only times you have to wear it?

There are no requirements to wear orange to hunt coyotes or pheasants in Kansas. Only deer during a rifle/muzzle loader season.

Did they change the laws about blaze orange and upland game? Been a long time since I took hunter's safety, but they told us that upland hunters had to wear the "100inches front and back, plus a hat, just like firearms deer hunters). I know for sure that deer hunting during the firearms seasons do require the hat and 100" front and back (not required during archery seasons).

No orange is required in KS for coyotes. Good idea to wear it if you're calling during deer rifle season though.

This is the personal rule I follow.

I haven't seen many late season deer hunters on the properties I've been on. That includes quite a few WIHAs.

Thanks! I called the KWDP today and they said the exact same thing. Only deer hunter during firearm season. I thought for sure also that it was mandatory during upland season but no such rule. Should be though! Thanks for the replies guys!

I carry it to warn other hunters that I'm the one in the bush making the funny sounds and that is a decoy not a hurt bird. Should the need ever arise.
