Hunting Clothes for Kids

All,

I have an 11 year old son I'm trying to outfit with gear for the upcomimg hunting season. He'll be hunting Ducks, Geese, Yote's, and Deer. What I need help with is finding hunting clothes for him. Any ideas? I'm not having much luck. I know Cabela's has some thing's but their selection is pretty slim. Thanks in advance. I sure want his first season to be full of great memories.

I know this is gonna sound cheap, but here goes. I reared two sons 4 years apart. They will outgrow this seasons clothes before the next season rolls around. Get the cheap stuff from Wally World. I know you want it to be special, but to him, just being with dad will make it special. Keep the hunts short and if he gets cold, shut it down and go home. He will not tire of it as easily. Once he goes numb, and he will, it is no longer fun to him. Good luck and enjoy the time you get to spend with him. Randy

Finding camo clothing for the daughter was my biggest challenge, but I found most everything I needed at Kiddie Camo. They have a website and carry everything camo for infants through youth sizes. I completely outfitted her with shirt, pants, jackets, hat, orange vest, etc. Ordered it all online and only had to exchange the jacket. They didn't hesitate to exchange it for a larger size.

The Wal-Mart in our area just doesn't have many items for the young hunters. It's a shame.

Steppinwolf,

Kiddie Camo....I'll check it out. Thank you. Wally World here doesn't carry any hunting stuff for Youth. As a matter of fact two of the three have/are pulling their guns and not selling them any more.

RagnCajn,

Thanks sounds like you've been where I'm going. Your right, every moment I can spend in the wild with my two boy's is special.......I thing some times as a dad you just want to get them some of the thing you never had.

Thanks for the info. I will check out Kiddie Camo, my 10 year old son seems to outgrow clothes before the tags are cut off. Heading to Wally World this afternoon to pick up clothes for him, next week he's hunting coyotes with me Friday & waterfowl over the weekend. May the wind be in your face.... Remember to take lots of photos of your children hunting with you.

I buy most of my son's stuff from Cabelas. As far as their selection, you need to get one of their Kid's Clothing catalogs. I have found practically everything that he needs there. And their youth stuff is very good quality.

try god's country camo kurt one of the owners is a really good guy and will help you find what you need. they are coming out with a snow camo here soon.

Hey guys, If your kids have outgrown their hunting clothing by next year and there isnt a kid in your immediate circle of friends/family needing it and its in good usable condition. Post it here and Pass it on.
Patrick
