hello out there fellow hunters, i am considering putting together a hog hunting trip here within the next month or so. i have done a fair amount of research online into various guide ranches and whatnots, and have found some of them charge exorbant amounts of money with no guarentee of success. and then there were a few that did offer 100% success. whew!! it can be very overwhelming, trying to find the right place to go hunt these wild hogs..lol so if anyone out there has some good info on places to hunt, and or information on landowners allowing hunters to hunt feral hogs on their property, i would really enjoy hearing back from you. i reside in wi. and the states that i have been looking at such places as texas and mich. but am open to other places also such as perhaps ark.,mo.,tn.,or anywhere else that might offer good feral hog hunting. oh and any other wise advice offered on hunting these wild critters will be greatly appreciated too. thanks for taking the time to read my post. gharleydude

JR,

I came down last year to bowhunt for hogs and had a great time. I'm planning a trip for Feb or Mar. I'd like to stay around Dallas or the panhandle this time. Any ideas or tips please let me know.

Why pay for farel hogs? try bear mountain in the U.P. they have the true russians. I am a taxidermist in madison and just had a 400lb boar dropped off for a mount, big bad dude. there are 8 of us going in march and the guy who dropped off the boar called the next day to see if he could go up there with us again, as he had a great time. he said there was not one thing to complain about. check them out at www.BearMountianQuest.com if you can't get their site up give Greg a call @ 800 676 9821

If you want a hella of rush go to south Texas, my cousin lives around Uvalde and they run the hogs with dogs at night, the crazy part is you stick the pigs with a knife instead of shooting it.(so you don't shoot the dogs) If your looking for excitement that is the way to go for hogs! The prices for hunting down that way is pretty reasonable, just run a search for Texas hog hunting with dogs.

I guide on a ranch here in Locust Grove Oklahoma.
We have alot of hogs. You can pick anything from a huge true russian boar for a mount or you can hunt meat hogs for $1.25 a #. You choose the weapon. We also have alot of exotics. The ranch is right at 1,400 acres, its fully guided, and(no kill no pay).We are in the process of putting together a pack of dogs due to the number of requests for knife hunts. I've been to south Tx alot hunting feral hogs and I love it, but these pure Russian hogs are huge.Drop me an email at blacklinedunn1@chouteautel.com or call me at
918-598-3557. My name is Terry Silkey and I would be happy to talk hogs with you.

A lot of public land in East Texas has pretty good hog hunting, put not guaranteed of course. It would be a lot cheaper though. Depends if you are into the "hunt" or the "kill".

Call the County Tax assessor for Haskell County in texas. They will be able to put you into contact with some of the local farmers. Their peanut crop was ravaged this year by hogs and some of the landowners don't charge to hunt there. They just want the Hog's off their place. Why pay to hunt the things, they are all over the place. Alot of the farmers around here hate hog's more than they hate coyotes.
