Need a little help. I am going to Montana in a month to hunt coyotes. What are the requirements for hunting on the Crow Agency reservation. Any help would be appreciated. I will be on a private ranch but on the reservation.

j hun This is confusing your will have to go to Crow agency to get a permit to hunt on the crow res tribble lands you can't realey tell were they are. So its best to have this it is called a rec, permit or a tresspass permit they are not that expensive. But very confusing to get also if you want to shoot coyotes or p dogs you need a lic. or attachment to the permit. these can be purchessed at crow at the old hospital building same with all other permits. But you have to get a money order as they can't take cash or check. The permit is 10.00 plus atachments. There are also others for small game, big game and ect. Coyotes are non game animals as are p dogs, in Mt. But on tribble lands they are. There is a us post office about a block from there to get money orders be prepared to be there a while, go to Nat Resorces Dept. All this done you have a good time. excellant Contry for critters but they are a little call shy. Keep in mind game aniamals and fur bearers you must also have a valad Mt. lic as well as they don't reconize each others lic. More you also have to carry writen permission on you at all times from the land owner, but sometimes you can go a couple of days without seeing any one. Jim

Thanks alot. It does sound like a lot of things to do, but if that's what you got to do, I guess I'll have to.

We are going to be hunting on Lyle Tyler's place just West of Wyota. He used to live in my hometown a long time ago and I went to school with his Sister. I always wanted to go out there and finally am going to make it after a lot of years. If it looks promising we will be back there next winter. The Helecopter flew earlier on his place but they can't get them all. He says there are a lot of coyotes.

make sure you check if there is a season or not, In genral there isn't a season on coyotes in Mt. BUT Indian lands have their own rules, the Fort Peck Indian Rez In Northern Mt. has a coyote season and it ended the last day of Feb.

j hun I know rite were you are going to hunt, You should see a few coyotes there. no closed season on coyotes on crow res . good luck Jim
