Hunting in the East forum gone.

Why not give members what they want? Is it really that big of a deal? And yes, I want the baiting forum restored, either its own forum or a sticky like it’s been for ages. I have been here and contributed a lot to this site for over 18 years. I have earned the right to speak.

Glad to hear from you 6mm06, I have followed you for years and learned a lot. I actually built a night vision setup like yours "back in the day"
Glad your doing well.
Happy Thanksgiving

Just my two cents but I don’t see the big deal about these forums being combined. From what I see the only difference is ease of access to east only posts. Seems lazy more than anything but at the end of the day you can’t make everyone happy.

Let’s not forget this is a free site. It doesn’t matter if you have been a member for 30 years or 30 days at the end of the day your membership is the same. Let’s be happy there are some changes being made in an attempt to better the site. There will be growing pains.

The east to west argument seems like an “I can’t decide which restroom to use” issue. At the end of the day we are all here to talk coyote hunting. Let’s stick to that.

You guys are still griping for something to be done which I've already done:

The East west argument is BS as far as I am concerned as well. That is not what this is about.
It is about change.

First the site was revamped causing a bunch of issues getting back in for some like me for one.

The 30 years 30 day comment, what can I say to that. There are guys on here like 6mm06 and many others that I have followed for years that as far as I am concerned BUILT this site.

IF the WA in your handle mean Washington State your about 3500 miles from myself and 6mm06,and many others.

Why is the Predator 101 still up? I went there today looking around, might as well shove that in there too.

I don’t know about you but I can care less if a coyote is killed 2 miles from me or 5000. It still interests me and I like to hear about it and enjoy the story. Maybe you should start a site that won’t allow members geographically west of the Mississippi.

Stu, my apologies. There was so much reading content before I posted that I overlooked that you added stickies. Thank you.

Not a problem. They're subforums, not stikies. After discussing it we deiced that stickies would do more to clutter up this forum 7 it would be better to use subfoums to keep the content separated & more easily findable, while still minimizing the impact to the main forum page

My terminology was not correct. I use the term sticky to mean “something at the top that remains there.” Again, thank you for the move.

Whether you agree with the need for the Hunting in the East sub forum or not, one thing is for sure. This discussion generated over 2000 views and 5 pages of replies.
I can't remember the last time that a topic received that much attention and participation in such a short time span. That is a good thing, right?

That's partly what changed my own mind on this. The thoughtful posts in this thread, and in particular a question posed by @DoubleUp , had me rethinking what the question here should really even be. I've been pursuing this from the angle of using analytics to make the decision that would result in the most growth. But when I asked myself, is growth for it's own sake, the goal? I answered myself No.

Members that contribute content, are engaged, and obviously care, wanted this change reversed. Members that contribute to the "quality" here. For myself, once the conversation moved from Who Did What?, to mostly talking about people and not ideas, to finally some reasoned discussion about ideas and not people, I took that in and saw this in a completely different light once the east vs. west baloney had a chance to settle. I just changed my mind to go for quality over quantity in this case.
