I have 1 tat, I got it on my 18th birthday, to help remind me < could never forget, anyways > of the best friend I have ever had, 10 days after his 18th B-day he put a 22 rifle to his head and ended his life, my tat reminds me of all the time we spent together, all the carefree days of growing up, all the partying and chaseing girls, the music that we listened too, its a simple little tattoo, that most would think was stupid to get, but for me it brings back tons of memories, it is a tattoo of the baby on the album cover of Alice Cooper's Billion Dollar Babies, and the song... Im eighteen, I am 43 now and the tat is started to fade alittle, and before long, I will have it recolored, I own Harley's and kind of always been a rebel, and have no desire to get any other tat's but for as long as I am alive I will keep this tattoo, and cherish the time and memories that I spent with my bud, SO LONG MAC!! I will be meeting up with you soon enough..... but Im not rushing it

I don't have any at all. My daughter wanted me to paint a dragonfly on her ankle for a joke to show friends at work. She had a kit with ink and dye (art set). My grandson was 3 or 4yrs. old at the time. I decided to paint a small green lizard on the inside of my forearm to show to him. I painted it and forgot about it. If you want to get a feel for how people react to a tattoo, paint one on (it has to look real) and watch their faces when they spot it. My neighbor saw my lizard and she didn't say a word, but her face spoke volumes. The same thing happened at the doctor's office when the nurses saw it. I knew instantly what they thought. It wasn't good.

maybe the neighbor lady and nurses dont like lizards... if your tryin to get the ladies try something more manly.di your grandson like it? a small green lizard, lol

I, for one, don’t much care if a random nurse or neighbor lady 'approve' of my tattoo or not. It should be my character, work ethic, and honest word by which I am measured. If one thinks lowly of me for a tattoo, then they are the ones who need to look in the mirror.

I tend to agree that a face full of metal or tattoos above the collar are not needed. But, if one chooses to do so, then to each their own.

Yes, my grandson liked it, he was into snakes and lizards at that time. We wore the cover off his snake book. I guess I find tats more interesting to look at, but never had any desire to be inked myself. As some have noted, they seem to be as old as mankind. To each his own.

I didn't post as a 'put down', it was just an experience.

I used to like daisy dukes until now. Lol

I've got a whitetail buck skull on my calf, an arrow (although it wasn't intended with hunting in mind) on my forearm, and a largemouth bass silhouette on my shoulder. The bass is a cover up of a stupid "I'm 18 and I'm going to get a tattoo" mistake.
