Hunting Tripod Inverted Legs

I’ve been using a Recon CT3 tripod for a couple of years now and really pleased with its performance but thinking of changing it this winter. I’ve recently noticed there are a few tripods with “inverted” legs like the Sunwayfoto T4020 range as they only have 2 legs do these offer superior strength and rigidity in this format? I also like the idea of only have one adjuster.
Thanks

Fatboy also makes a 3 section inverted legs model.

I use a RRS 2 section inverted tripod and really like it. As already stated the 2 section doesn’t close as short a 3 section but that’s not an issue for me as I leave mine adjusted for my height/use and store in my back floor board or truck bed.

I believe the inverted is much quicker and easier to adjust on a slope. All you need to do is lengthen the front leg and it’s easier to reach and do quick.

The only negative l can think of is a two second inverted will probably not work for most people if you want to sit on a short stool and shoot…..it may it work but you will have to spread the legs wider to get it lower.

The problem with that is if sitting to shoot…..say for coyote hunting and the legs are spread wider it will be harder to quickly pick up the tripod and move it to make a shot say at 9’clock or 3’ clock.

I had a Fatboy 2 section and really liked it except for one thing…….it was over 2lb heavier than the RRS I’m now using. The RRS is much more expensive but I’m 67 and not getting any younger.

If you want to shoot sitting down l recommend getting the 3 section Fatboy inverted.

I really like my Leofoto SO-322C with the Leofoto YB-75LR leveling head. I saved a lot of money not going with the big name brands. I've used my savings for addition reloading components, tripod accessories, etc..

I've used it sitting and standing. Change out the head and it will lay flat.

I think a lot of it boils down to the quality of the section joints, and how well they lock, determines whether the inverted system is more stable.
