Hunting Wives

I know this has probably been covered elsewhere, but thought I'd ask anyway. I hunt and fish all the time with my hubby. We enjoy it, we are each others best friends, and always have fun no matter what we're doing. He's never had a problem with having me hunting with him at all. However, one of his buddy's wives told me yesterday that her husband and supposedly the other guys feel that it's "guy time" and they don't want chicks along on hunting and fishing trips. Now part of me knows she's jealous because she and her husband don't do anything together, but it just got me thinking, how many of you prefer guys only trips? How many like it when their wives go with?

I'm not the type to beat around the bush and asked the hubby's hunting buddies if they have a problem with me going, and they all told me no, I can do whatever I want, and that was a load of bs and not to listen to her. My hubby is of the mind that if any of the guys have a problem with me going, that they don't need to hunt with him anymore. So, what's everyones opinion on hunting wives/gf's?

I take my wife and/or daughter hunting/shooting any time that they want to come with me. As a matter of fact, I just finished rebuilding a deer stand because my wife wanted it a bit larger so that it would be more comfortable for two people.

If someone doesn't like my wife/daughter hunting with me, they can pound sand and find someone else to hunt with. MI VHNTR

You guys are some lucky men!

I wish I could find a Gal that liked to hunt and fish!

All my ex's were the types to try to get you away from it instead of accepting it.

Try to change and refine ya. Thats why they're ex's!

Guy time? I get enough of that with the morons at work!

Life is too short to be away from those that matter most. Family are yer best friends and usally the most loyal.

By the thread title I was hoping this would be tips on catching one!

I wished my wife would go with me more we do fish a lot together when we get the chance , we have different days off it sucks but its life .

Hula girl does not care how often I hunt and fish, how many guns I buy, how the interior of our home looks like a sportsmans lodge with all the mounts ect but she will not go with me period. We are opposite as night and day and that seems to work. Her family and culture is from Hawaii and her interest seem to center around the water. Not me, I don't swim well at all, and I won't even wade in the ocean. So on our honeymoon on Oahu's north shore she takes off swimming past the freaking breakwater. I told her if something goes wrong shark, rip tide, ect theres not much I could do. Ya think she listened? Grizz

I think more women need to be hunters and there needs to be more family activities involved in it. I also believe there are too many single moms raising kids without passing down the tradition of hunting and if the sport is going to have a future, it needs to have women involved.

I hear lots of guys talk about keeping the women away from hunting camp. Some just don't like it. I lost a life long hunting partner when my wife started hunting. The way I figure it, his loss! I'd much rather hunt with my wife anyway. Now days she hunts without me or goes her own way when we hunt deer and hogs a lot of the time.

There are a few guys here that have hunted with Michelle and I, they can tell you she can hang with the best of'em.

Stay together. To heck with what the guys think!

I know people who think it is guys time out. I take my wife with me all the time. I take my daughters with me also when they want to go. I enjoy their company.

My mom has been the best hunting partner my dad has ever had.

She's mainly a Deer hunter, and has got some pretty nice bucks. She's really looking forward to Elk hunting this year.

My wife used to hunt a lot with me when we first got married, now she is not into it as much, but still likes to hang out with us when we can do family hunting trips. My daughter and I hunt quite a bit together, and always will! I don't see hunting as a "gender" specific pastime, but rather one driven by an individuals desire, regardless of gender. I think this desire can be developed by exposing someone to hunting, vs. expecting it to just come naturally. In my house, hunting is and always has been a "lifestyle", and my kids have always been made a part of that lifestyle. My daughter loves to hunt, and in some ways, she is better at it than many men I know. I think the reason for this may be that since she is unburdened with "manly pride" (men are supposed to be born with "hunter/gatherer" skills!), she is a better listener and therefore may be a better student of the game. IMHO, any hunter who has a wife/daughter in their life that they haven't at least taken along hunting with them to see if they like it or not, may really be missing out; not only on a wonderful hunting partner, but also the opportunity of building the kind of memories with them that cannot be equaled!

My wife and I hunt deer, pheasants, coyotes, fishing, camping, everything together. It wasn't always that way but she commented on getting into hunting because I enjoyed it so it must be fun. She now has her own 7MM RM, Savage 22-250, Rem 870 20GA, and a Marlin .22. She has one shot three deer so far, several clean kill coyotes and fox, no pheasant yet, some jack rabbits as well. She also runs my trapline with me - when I decide to use them. A better shot than I, a better fisherman as well. Last year she announced to me that it was time for her to get her own deer. Somewhere in the morning while helping my brother gut HIS deer? we here her shoot, followed by a phone call. Buck down, can you come help with retrieval. You bet!! She will always be my first partner in all outdoor activity.................
My other hunting 'buddies' know that. NONE of them have a problem with it, or, better not have.. life is good......

I saw the headline and thought whos hunting for a wife besides me...

My ex never hunted with me, didnt like it, but after she ran off she started to "love" hunting...with her new guys. She did go camping many times though.

Ive never had any problems with pals wifes going on a hunt with us.
I like it when women get out & are part of the pack.
I now have the neighbors girl wanting to go since I started to teach her to shoot and goes to the range every week with me.

some of the best times in the woods has been with my wife.shes not much in to predator hunting but loves pig and deer hunting.shes my best friend and my buddy comes second if she wants to go.he understands and never says anything negative but i know he would rather be there.the best thing about a wife that likes to hunt is she is has bad has i am when it comes to getting hunting stuff.if we think we need something we get it.

My wife is a non hunter fisher etc etc.

Makes the bumper sticker I say recently more meaningful.

I've had my wife on a dove hunt with me but that's about it. She'll shoot the .45 but the shotgun intimidates her. She helps with the after kill aspect of is so I guess that's good enough. She was up at three in the mornin' two years ago holding bags while I cut meat off my deer. I'm gunna keep her.

My Wife has been my Hunting partner since we were 17 years old. We celebrated or 31st Anniversary Today.

I actually get kinda upset if she is worn out and wants a day off from Hunting and she tells me to take one of my friends. I would rather just stay home if she don't go.
