Looked at a couple combo, Savage and IZH,-- THAN I see this Tikka 512S 12ga / .222cal /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif, at Shyda's Gunshop in Lebanon,Pa. Just happen to have saved up that amount the price tag showed.
This will may be, most likly, very possibyl, could be, the last weapon I might buy, perhaps. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif Anyway took this to the range, wind blowing at a 45 degree to the target, three shots at 50 yards, cover with a dime and 1 inch high.I only had a rolled up cover to lay it on. This toy is topped with a Leupold 1.5 X 5. It's not new, but new to me, graded at 98% with no marks on the stock. I shot the 12 ga. twice and it patterns good at 50 yards. Draw back, kicks like a mule, I could not shoot it the third time, my flincher started up, shoulder hurts /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif. I'm happier than a pig belly deep in a mud hole. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Hey Just Shoot interested in selling that gun??? I'll take it right off your hands for ya! Just Kidding! Those are the best Turkey guns I've ever shot. My dad has one and he wouldn't take a million dollars for it. At 50 yards a with a #4 2 3/4" Nitro Mag the ol Gobblers have never stood a chance! And the 222 will shoot almost bullet hole for bullet hole. They are awesome guns and would love to own one. I hope you enjoy it and if you ever decide to get rid of let me be the first to know PLEASE!!!!

That is a sweet setup. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

How are you sighting the 12 Ga.?

Looks light weight?

Good fined. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

OH Word from the wise don't ever try a 3" magnum even though its chambered for it! If you do STAY AWAY FROM THE SCOPE! I've shot one through my dads and trust me it was and will be the last!

A million dollars, I could be talked into it. If this scope made contact with my head while shooting a mag I would need it duck taped back on.
The scope has very long eye relief, that butt pad needs to be about 6 inches thick. This is light for a combo or double. This is with out a doubt why the extra kick. Awaken this morning with marks on my shoulder from the kick, will not shoot this from the bench again! I almost got the SPR 94, but as I most always do, I sleep on most deals. Than this one came into my life. Now I must take Mrs. Justshoot to the outlet clothes stores for her revenge, this will hurt more than the mag kick. There is a gun shop in that direction.

That looks like a very nice set-up. I don't know if you could find a better combo than 222/12 where I hunt. Congrats!

Sweet looking gun. And it matches your floor. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

holy smokes that is an awesome combo gun ! I didn't even know tikka made them! what does it weigh? all the combo guns i know of are too heavy to carry around all day.

I know you probably already know this i'm sure you have been shooting longer then but..... I find it sure does help if your front hand is pushing forward very firmly as you fire the shotgun. Your other hand obviously pulling into your shoulder. If I pull back with both hands it kicks the snot out of me.

I tell you what I'd put my dads 12 gauge Tikka against a Mossberg or any Turkey any day! They are hard shooting guns. Yes they kick harder than a Mule but the way they pattern at 50 yards is unbelievable. They are just simply awesome guns.. My dad bought his back in the 80's and as soon as he bought it he took it to a guy to have it camo'd. I thought the guy was literally gonna throw my dad out of his shop! He said "Are you SURE you wanna do this to this gun"? My dad said paint it or I'll take it somewhere else!! HaHaHa.. He's been offered over $1000 dollars just for the gun and he won't part from it! He better not cuz I told him I would kick his butt if he did! HaHa.. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Anyways Congrats on your new purchase and enjoy it. I know you will and I know you'll be glad you did. You'll probably wish you purchased it sooner! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

Took the Tikka for a walk yesterday evening,at one set-up saw a streak of gray, too big for a squirrel, anyway nothing. But, now I have another problem -- I would lay the Mossberg on the ground or against a wet log to set-up the equipment. I don't want to do this with this pretty piece!! Problems, problems, such is life. NO! I will not sell it! We (Tikka and me)are going out this morning, have a report later. Using rabbit distress with some crow caws mixed in, some female chirps and female howls, all loaded onto three different MP3 players with a power horn. Report later.

That is a dream piece. Wow lucky You. I did not know about Tika combos. May I asked what you paid? I would jump right on that, best of both worlds and great quality also.Let us know when you score. Hetzer

I paid $1200.00 with tax. It weights 8.5 pounds. I looked this over real close before buying and zero marks on the stock. Pretty blue finish. It was not handled much, for the spots there you would commonly see wear, there isn't any. Maybe the shot gun's kick crippled the orginal owner. But all that pretty will let you know that the shotgun barrel was fired, with that full choke. Having a nice weapon like this, and me being scary close to 62, is better than anything I can now think of.

That sure is a nice weapon. I've never seen one in the 12 gauge/ 223 cal. combo before. Usually it's a 20 gauge. That gun is a keeper, Kick and all. Good luck to you with the new gun and post some pictures of your first kill with it.
