I just bought a rcbs chargemaster combo

you are going to love the chargemaster. You will wonder why it took sooo long for you to finally make the decision to get one. The chargemaster has for me, cut groups in half with almost all of my loads-that just tells ya how much more consistant each charge is and it'll drop the charges in half the time it takes to manually drop a charge+trickle by hand. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif
 
Well after reading this and a 100 reviews online, I ordered one. It does seem that you have a reasonable chance of receiving a dud but, between Midway and RCBS it always seems to get resolved. For anyone not living in TN and paying 10% sales tax, MidSouth is a lot cheaper.
I didn't ever consider that it would tighten groups, just speed up the reloading process. If I get better groups, that would be an added bonus.
 
I have a question for you Chargemaster gurus. I have seen references to an auto dispense function on the Chargemaster Combo on different message boards. I haven't been able to locate that function on mine. Am I missing something or have the new models dropped that function. TIA
 
Its in the manual... hold down the ENTER button until it beeps and shows AUTO... If you ever want to return it to Manual do the same thing. Also, if you want it to stop dispensing after a load, press CANCEL. and it wont dispense another one onto the scale until you press DISP again!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif
 
The only problem I had with mine was when it was dispencing I couldn't use my press because it would jiggle the bench and trip the dispencer and cause a short charge. I rebuilt my reloading bench and set the Chargemaster on some soft rubber pads and that seems to have solved the problem. But, if you don't have a super stable reloading bench be aware that this could be an issue.
