I killed Friar Tuck (Disney's Robinhood)

I was bored this morning and my wife went yardselling with her mom for a couple hours, so I borrowed my mother-in-laws truck and went out to the desert to try out my new call I got from crapshoot (He learned me all I know- except straight shooting). This was my first time ever calling and at my first stand. I was trying for coyotes but incomes this badger. All I had was my pistol cause I don't own my own rifle yet. It came in, looked around, then kept coming.
I shot one shot, missed him but freaked the crap out of her.
She doubled in size then started runnin almost at me. I put about 3 shots into it before i took out its foot and it dropped. It was a tough bugger. And, well, I got me my firt badger. I was all alone, so I called crapshoot and he said I'd done good. I then picked it up and drove back home- with it in my mother-in-laws truck /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif. Crapshoot then skinned it with me, and they reek bad! I'll have it tanned.
Fun Morning!

bet the rancher will be glad you stopped the hole digger.
we have them in our alfala field some times they make for rough mowing. i do not shoot the ones in the p.d. towns here. but back home we shot and trapped them. they smell worse than beavers witch smell three times as bad as coyotes. and coyotes ssstttiiinnnnkkk. they are a fur bearrer here so you must have a tag.
good job on him.
i had three come at the same time last fall. i think it was a mom and two kids.

Piperat: Congrats on the Badger! With those claws, she'd ripped you apart! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-006.gif

I keep hoping to get one of them suckers, but the only ones I seem to find are already dead. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif

I'd make Lance skin all of them. That must be why he doesn't call and kill any, cause he don't like to skin them. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

He can definately teach a person a thing or two about calling. I wish he was closer so he could give me a few lessons.

The badger wasn't too far from Henderson. Everyone I talked to didn't know we had badgers here either. I can't say exactly where I found it b/c it's crapshoot's area he showed me and we still call there. I won't betray him twice (he said he has to break my legs b/c I killed his badger in his area /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif). But it was also just dumb first time caller's luck I called it in. I had to have been right on top of it. The only other badger crapshoot has ever seen was a dead one up by Alamo, NV.
Thanks for all the responses and congrats.

The "We don't need no stinking badgers" quote is from UHF.
