I remember the good old gas war days as well, although that was a wee bit before my driving time. Remember the green stamp days, and glasses, and dishes. And, that was all on top of it being full service!!
Remember the dime for a soda and a candy bar, and let's not forget that you got 3 cent back for the bottle!
No cell phones, in fact not everyone had phones. We were lucky to get on a party line when we moved out here in the sticks.
2 channels on TV, one was snowy all the time, the other was the public TV. Didn't matter much because it all looked about the same on the old black & white.
Corporal punishment wasn't done away with in school, and if the folks heard you got paddled at school, you got paddled again when you got home!
