Good conditions Sunday so I headed out at 5am with my good buddies.had this Tom treed by 10 am. He wasn't a shooter so I climbed the tree and poked him with a 3 ft stick.. Good times. ][/url]

To get him to jump so the younger dogs can see him go and they can tree him themselves without the older dogs..
My friends raise all their dogs from pups.. so every race is a training op.

not a selfie kinda guy I guess..Lol
I was more worried about the dead limbs I was standing on than the cat.. in fact when he jumped he broke off a limb twice as big as I was standing on. Lol

I'm pretty brave, roped a badger once, but I ain't climbing a tree with a grown mountain lion it. Their wasn't anyone there with a big enough gun to make me do it. I'm sure your momma wouldn't approve.

holy crap man that takes a big set of stones to get that close to a lion in a tree - no wonder you were worried about breaking a branch!

Me climbing that tree is nothing to the stories I've heard those guys tell.. They jump cats out of trees all the time. My buddy Justin once had to crawl into a culvert that a cat has bayed in with two of his dogs. With nothing more than a old pocket knife. There was quite a fight going on and he knew his dogs were going to end up dead so in he went.. after pulling the dogs out the cat got after him. He won the fight.. still has the torn up jacket and a couple scars to show for it.. that's stones... his dad had him climbing cat trees when he was 9. I'm 46.. I'll climb the next one without hesitation.
